I am constantly getting emails from moms lamenting the fact that stores carry tons more cool clothes for little girls than they do for boys. But the good news is, it's getting better all the time in the world of boys' fashion. So say goodbye to baby-fied character wear. Yawn in the face of basic stripes. And turn your nose up at the same-old-same-old. I'll show you the coolest brands for boys for 2012.
Munster Boys' Clothes
Munster is a line of girls', boys' and toddler clothes from Australia that's making some big waves where in the US. Their clothes are edgy and often feature a monster theme that's quirky and very boy-centric.
I really enjoy this line of fun, funky kids' clothes, especially for boys. Kids of all ages get a kick out of Munster's ghoul-tastic graphics. My favorite are the monster hoodies for boys and toddler boys too.
Munster is available in the US at Axl's Closet
. Happy shopping!
iNTAKT for Boys
iNTAKT is an up and coming line of too-cool-for-school boys' clothes. The line is filled with boy must-haves such as tees, tops, hoodies, shorts and pants for boys 1 year to size 7. iNTAKT's boys line takes inspiration from the street and mixes in styles from the worlds of surf, skate and street pop. So you know he'll love it.
And best of all, the line is affordable (stands back to hear cheers from parents.) And it's made for everyday wear with designs that are functional as well as stylish, and quality that can withstand playtime. The fashions from the iNTAKT line go from school to the playground to the backyard easily. And, the pieces mix and match, making it effortless to come up with outfits for any occasion. Check them out. I'm sure you'll like what you see.
Naartjie Kids is a global kids' fashion line that excels in creating boys' clothes that boys love to wear. Their fashions are trendy enough to be cool, but not so trendy that your average boy won't feel comfortable wearing them at home, to school or just out and about.
I particularly like how Naartjie Kids makes shopping online easy. They break down their lines by seasons and even include transitional season lines. So when it's not quite spring yet, but winter's coming to an end, you can find the perfect transitional outfit
for your favorite boy.
And best of (especially for all of you non-USA readers out there), Naarjie Kids is truly an international brand. Their website ships to to all U.S. Territories, Canada, and Japan without any special arrangement, and will work with international customers from other countries to fulfill and ship orders.
No Added Sugar's Boys' Line
No Added Sugar has been a favorite here at About.com's Kids' Fashion Site ever since our first installment when we featured No Added Sugar's Lock Up Your Daughters Tee
as the best boys' t-shirt of the year. And they are still going strong, bringing Brit-cool fashions to America's most stylish kids.
Their style is edgy and unmistakeable. No Added Sugar's never afraid to make kids' clothes dripping with rock-n-roll, punk and in-your-face street style. And that's why we love them so.
Their boys line has all the boxes checked--filled with awesome graphic tees, cool pants, hoodies, sweaters, socks and more.
Appaman for Boys
Another long-time favorite that's still going strong--Appaman. Appaman is a totally cool line of kids' wear created by Norwegian born Harald Husum. Appaman's designs fuse together Husum's Nordic sense of style with modern American imagery to create hip, modern clothes for kids. I'm simply in love with the edgy, yet age appropriate look of Appaman's clothes. If you are looking for artistic, simple clothes that will make your kiddos look sophisticated, stylish and comfortable, I suggest you check out this stand-out line of kids' fashion.
