From the article: Saving Money on Kids' Clothing
These days, we are all looking for little ways to save money. And as all parents know, kids' clothes can often be as expensive as adult clothes. I've asked Moms from all over the country to share with my readers their tips on saving money. Now it's your turn. How do you keep your kids dressed on a budget? Share Your Tips
Seasonal Planning
- We keep a running list of clothing items the kids need or wish to replace. Then we shop for those items only. I have found that when we have no list we end up with lots of stuff the kids rarely use. We then hunt for bargains from everywhere incl thrift stores. Also, when things are marked down, I pick up every day items such as jeans, sneakers, tees in bigger sizes. We store these by size and its the first place we check before we hit the stores once an item is outgrown. Please keep sharing. Loving it.

Mom2Mom
- I shop the local mom to mom sales held in my area. I shop 1 season ahead and often find items with tags still attached for pennies on the dollar. I'll rent a table to sell everything outgrown and use that money to fund my purchases.

Saving on Kids Clothes
- Garage Sales - if it is good stuff and your child's size make an offer to take it all and ask if she would take your number and call when she has more. It will save her the work of a garage sale and you a lot of money- you may even be able to swap clothes if you have someone out growing a size she can use. The worst she can say is no. Also take one one or two days a month and look at thrift stores, write down every size, favorite name brands, colors, and styles.

I Use Sears "Kidvantage" Program
- I try to buy my kids' shoes and coats at Sears, because their "Kidvantage" program promises to replace any item that wears out before they outgrow it. They also send me one 15% off coupon for every $100 I spend on the kids' clothing, which helps.
