I'm not sure

I'm 11 and I don't own a bikini, but my friends do, I never go swimming so I dont need one. I had a proper swimming bikini, but it was for proffesionals, once. I'm thinking of getting a bikini, because me and some friends are doing stuff and we I dont want to look like a baby. I dont want to be rude or braggy but I have a pretty good figure, Im about a size 6 or 4 in womens clothes, and Im 5 foot 5 in. I am quite shy about wearing one, but everyone else does, even my friend who looks like a 7 year old, so I'm not sure, I think my parents would let me wear one.

Are you Stupid!

This is in response to rysa's comment, i am 12 and i live in England. i don't know why your mum has to approve YOUR clothes! I get to choose what i wear and my mum isn't a bad parent and by the way im not a rich posh kid she just doesn't treat me like baby. And i can definately say every child i have met that is over the age of 9 chooses there own clothes. That is the problem with parents now they want to protect there kid's too much, they can't wear bikinis because perverts will look, they can't wear low tops because boys will look. When can we ever get a choice in life what happens when we move out mummy isn't gonna be there to choose our clothes.

Bikinis are fine!

My parents won't let me wear a bikini, but I think that there's no reason for them to not let me. The bikini I want doesn't show too much of my skin, and I know I have the body for it. I don't think they should be as strict as they are.

Bikinni rules

I personally think as long as its not skimpy and is comfortable its ok. But parents really shouldn't restrict what girls like to wear. Besides, what 15 year old boy would care if your like 8? If their interested then that's the mom's cue to step in. For the parents, don't be super over protective. gosh!

Well...

I personally don't really like bikinis but tankinis are fine. Most girls wear them and usually they are the ones that act girly and stupid around guys. If you like the fit than that's fine. If you don't like them than a tankini is probably more your style. I'm 16 and I still wear a one piece.

Let her/him

I am 12 and I think that if your child is 10+ and she wants to wear one and she isn't too big (no offence) then you should let her. I mean it isn't as if she is completely naked or anything. I'm going out with my Auntie soon to buy one for this summer. But just be careful that she fits into it because it's really embarrassing if it falls off, especially in front of boys. Boo xoxo

depends...

well im 10 and i think the answer varies by personality because at our graduation pool party from 5th grade most people wore one pieces because thats how their style is including me but a bunch of people wore bikinis (only some wore tankinis). my first time i had a bikini was when i was 3 and that was the last time too, i dont really like them. but if you as parents dont feel comfortable buying your kid a bikini but they dont want a one piece a tankini is a good idea. thanks!!! :) :P :D ~superawesomeperson

Well...

Well, I personally do NOT like bikinies or tankinies. It's just that my mom says it looks cute and girly and stuff so, yeah... And I'm only 10!!! Well, my mom says it's and appropriate age level, and she has been bugging me to wear one since I was 8. Personally, I think it just depends on your body and your style. Like, if you tend to tan easily, I suggest you to wear a suit. Then if you are a bit more girly and cute and stuff, you might want a bikini or tankini with cute patterns or things. If you think the bikinis or tankinis are too revealing, wear a one-piece or a suit. And if you like the bikini, but think that the bottom half looks like underwear, wear board shorts or just simply buy a bikini with a skirt. Well, in my opinion, the cutest, comfortablest and most fashionable swim suit is a suit and bikini combined. You know how some suits are two pieced? Well, I wear a bikini then I put the top half of the suit on top of the bikini. It's just your opinion!

vgn

I think you shouldn't wear bikinis if you have breasts, because practically all bikinis reveal your chest, and barely cover your body. If you want a guy who isn't a pervert, don't wear one! Women only wear them because they want guys to look at them

My parents don't mind

I'm 12 and I've bought my first bikini Its not because I want attraction, merely swimsuits and tankinis are uncomfortable. My parents don't mind as mine aren't too revealing there made for my sort of age so boxer like shorts and a not too revealing shape. They feel that I'm getting old enough to choose what I wear reponsibly so!
