Kipling backpacks are well known for their bright colors, durable materials and of course for hanging a little monkey from every bag. For Back to School, one of the most important purchases is the backpack. Kids' backpacks come in all sorts of sizes, styles and colors. It's important when purchasing backpacks for kids to find the right balance between the size that fits their backs and the size that fits all their stuff.
Meet the Test Drivers
Kipling had 2 Test Drivers, grade-schooler Anna and soon-to-be Kindergartner Katie:

Anna's Kipling Ridge backpack is roomy and has tons of great organizations features, making it an ideal backpack for gradeschoolers. Dimensions: 12½"W x 16¼"H x 7½"D Weight: 1.2 lbs.
Katie's Firefly Small Backpack is small and lightweight so it is easy for preschoolers and Kindergartners to tote their personal items. The Kipling Firefly Small backpack has a zippered pocket on interior back wall, an exterior open pocket with cell phone pocket, key clasp and 2 pen sleeves, 2 smaller zippered pockets on outside of bag, adjustable shoulder straps and the Kipling monkey keyring. Dimensions: 9¾"L x 13½"H x 6"D
2 words: Hot Pink, which means Anna was all about it. She was thrilled, thrilled, thrilled with this bag, mostly because of the color and because of the Kipling monkey which she likes to make suck its thumb. Her mom liked the lightweight, yet durable nylon, the extra organizational features and the padded shoulder straps. The bag is a bit large on 8-year old Anna, but Anna is quite small for her age. The bag would fit nicely on most kids 8 and up.
Katie's mom said, "When purchasing a backpack I make sure that it fits comfortably on the shoulders. That's my main concern. After that i look for style and function. The more pockets and organizational items the better! I really do like this bag. I like that it's a junior sized. It fits her back perfectly, but the straps are way too long and it falls off her shoulder. This bag would be perfect for an older child or adult to use for recreational use."
The Comfort Report

Both bags have padded shoulder straps to help make them comfortable to carry. The thin nylon material doesn't get hot so it's comfortable on kids' backs, even on warm days. They zippers have easy-grip rubber pulls and the zipper teeth are large and glide smoothly when opening and closing.
