I don't recall wearing boots often as a child. Galoshes, cowboy boots every now and then, suede booties at some point . . . options were there, but not to the extent available to kids today.
My kids wear boots all year long, but they are an absolute staple come fall. Right now the go-to shoe bin is filled with cowboy boots, shearling boots, moccasin booties, high-top sneakers, rain boots and flat urban boots.
My seven-year-old is currently coveting Umi's Kyraa booties, which are a little reckless rock and roll meets buttoned-up equestrian.
She doesn't really need another pair of booties, but I can't blame her for wanting them -- I wish they came in my size!
She does need a new pair of winter boots, and we both like the sleek Classic Boots by Bogs. The sleek black and simple lines are cool enough for her, and I love that they can be passed down to her younger brother, and from what I know of the quality, their sister after that.
What about you? Do your kids live in boots? Did you?
